One element of the game we love to watch is the player’s technical and physical skills. However it is these skills that can often result in injuries.
Up to 35 injuries occur in soccer per every 1,000 playing hours. Common injuries include bruising, sprains, strains, fractures and dislocations. These injuries are commonly caused by player contact, falls and tackles.

Retired baseballers still suffer the effects of injury by: Smartplay Victoria A study featured in the June 2007 issue of The Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport describes the long-term impact of major and significant injuries sustained during participation in competitive baseball, after players have retired from the game.
A total of 75 retired baseball players of varying skill level were surveyed. The average age of respondents was 56 years. On average, they had stopped playing when they were aged 41 years of age, after they had been playing for an average of 27 years.
Key findings from the study were:
88% of respondents had been injured during their careers. 19% of all respondents reported suffering from arthritis, 24% from restricted joint mobility and 4% from chronically stiff ... |
